At the bottom of the crags at Froggatt Edge are a number of unfinished millstones that were abandoned when the millstone industry in Derbyshire collapsed in the 19th century (due to cheap foreign imports!). The millstones were formed from gritstone quarried from the rock outcrop that is today so popular with climbers.
