Metal plate attached to stone post by the A62, in parish of Mirfield (Kirklees District), Leeds Road, opposite No. 17, Mirfield, near "Three Nuns" PH, on wide pavement, on South side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : HUDDERSFIELD / 4 MILES : : BIRSTAL & HUDDERSFIELD / ROAD / MIRFIELD : : LEEDS / 11 MILES / BIRSTAL / 4½ / MILES / HECKMONDWIKE / 2¾ MILES : Maker:- : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE.
