Wotton house has had many uses over the years but is currently a hotel run by the De Vere group https://www.phcompany.com/de-vere/wotton-house It is an EH Grade II* listed building https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1189814 dating originally from the early C17th with additions from the intervening centuries. It may well be on the site of an earlier building. One of the most notable features of this property are its gardens (which are also Grade II* listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1000391 ) which are said to be one of the earliest (and indeed best) Italianate style gardens in the country.
