Opened in 1858 by the East Kent Railway as New Brompton, this soon became part of the London, Chatham and Dover Railway. The name was changed to Gillingham in 1912. Forecourt, just before the 2012 facelift. The original station entrance was in Railway Street. In 1932, it was rebuilt such that the main entrance was now opposite the end of the High Street. See Image for the same view some 8 years later.
