The house, on the corner of High Street, is a Grade II listed, mid-C16 building. Not the original Manor House, but it came to be called such when it was occupied by a family called Manners. Alfred Palmer was the son of architect Frank Palmer and was educated at Dulwich College and then studied art at Clapham School of Art.
