Burtonwood Services is on the M62 at Junction 8. Opened in 1974, it was originally a traditional service area on both sides of the motorway, but in 2008 the westbound side was closed. However it is accessible from both carriageways. You have to be careful entering the service area since access is via the slip road onto the eastbound carriageway from the roundabout at Junction 8. The service area is quite attractive and has a small, octagonal, pagoda-style building with a conical roof.
