Johnston station comprises a single platform with a simple waiting shelter; trains stop here only by request. Although there is not much evidence for it now, this was once the junction for the branch to Milford Haven off the main line between Haverfordwest and Neyland. Although it is a smaller town, the Great Western Railway always regarded Neyland as the more important terminus. Nevertheless, in 1964 the Neyland line was closed and all services from then on ran to and from Milford Haven.
