The grand facade of the theatre, designed by Charles Phipps, is now part of the much larger Royal Centre. Two trams stand at the Royal Centre stop at the junction of Wollaton Street (ahead) and Goldsmith Street. The centre of the city was more or less deserted on a Sunday morning.
