Situated part-way between Meopham Green in the south and the station at the northern end of the village. The George was plainly built as an old-style 'road-house' - with an eye to the passing trade rather than local custom. The casualty rate among old road-houses must be pretty high, so I'd imagine the George survives as a local - serving the recent residential developments nearby.
