Looking south towards Loughor. The Loughor Foreshore park has been recently created on the spoil tips of the former Broadoak Colliery, which opened in the 1820s and closed one year after nationalisation in 1948. At its peak it employed 300. The spoil was tipped from railway tracks that extended north from the colliery and now forms the promontory that forms the northernmost part of the park.
