The house had originally been built for the bridgemaster in charge of raising and lowering Carrow Bridge > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5766123 which it immediately adjoins. In the summer of 2017, the then tenant, who had lived in Carrow Bridge House for 57 years after having moved in when his father became bridgemaster, and inheriting the lease from his mother, was informed by the County Council’s property company NPS that he had to move out because the property, built in the 1920s, was in urgent need of repairs and had been declared unsafe for residence. The house is still standing in May 2018, but obviously unlived in, boarded up and padlocked.
