All the gravestones have been removed from their original positions to allow for easier grass cutting. They are now aligned in a row against the churchyard wall. The house seen in the background is one of a number of similar buildings at Alderson Place, a housing scheme which has won several awards, the first having been a Good Design in Housing award from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government in 1959. The estate was designed by City Architect David Percival, who had been appointed in 1955.
