With the ferry in the foreground. There is a plaque on the wall adjacent to the warehouses on the far bank which tells us that;- "In 1834 two rival builders, Robert Cornish and Messrs Hooper, built the pair of warehouses to take advantage of the hoped-for increase in trade. Cornish built his warehouse in limestone from Torbay and Hooper used local 'Heavitree' stone.
