Among the suburban streets in this part of Wivenhoe is the town's old water tower dating from 1902. It stands 77 feet high, is constructed of 143,000 bricks and had a capacity of 50,000 gallons. In common with a number of other redundant water towers around the country it has been converted into residential accommodation.
