Much of Ampthill's unique charm is owed to the residents of Ampthill Park House. In the early nineteenth century, Lord Upper Ossory reorganised the layout of the Market Square and sponsored the construction of the charming thatched Ossory Cottages and the erection of Katherine's Cross.
