Grade II Listed early 18th century Inn. At one time a Watneys establishment called The Globe it was named The Market Inn in the mid 1990s and in 2005 The Muppet Inn. The name reverted to The Globe between 2008 and 2013. It has been a pub since about 1760. Entries in my directories include; 1830 Elizabeth Thornton; 1839 Rt. Bartlett; 1851 R Bunning; 1869 Charles Bunning (& horse breaker); 1879-1896 Thomas Henry Acaster; 1901 no victualler given and addressed on Little Church Street (Little South Street had a New Globe Inn); 1904-1916 Christopher Charles Coats.
