In April 2018 metal fencing surrounds the derelict building on a triangular site between High Street, Prince of Wales Road and Bethesda Street. The building has been disused since 2006. Dating from 1888, this is one of only two surviving purpose-built music halls in Britain. Many famous stars performed here including Lily Langtry, Marie Lloyd, The Karno trio (including Charlie Chaplin), Dan Leno, Vesta Victoria, George Robey, Little Titch and Morecambe & Wise. The Palace hosted the first ever cinema show in Swansea in 1896. Its later uses included a bingo hall and a nightclub.
