This is the former Star bicycle and car factory. It is now the Starworks Warehouse music and events venue. Built in 1903, ‘Star Motors’ was one of the first mass production car manufacturing plants in the UK. The industrial warehouse now holds regular music festivals, contemporary art exhibitions, family weekends, street food events and vintage fares! There is a blue plaque on the building with the text: EDWARD LISLE 1852-1921 FOUNDER - STAR Cycles, Cars and Commercial Vehicles. first STAR Cycle built 1869. first STAR Car built 1897. This building was Star HQ. 1904 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Motor_Company Image]
