Portal entrance to the aqueduct

Built mainly of brick, with stone copings and cast-iron rubbing strips on the narrowing entrance, this is the SE portal to the narrow channel of the aqueduct. There is another, similar portal at the NW end, but it's not easily accessed. The whole construction was Grade I listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101037006-shrewsbury-canal-longdon-aqueduct-aqueduct-on-the-shrewsbury-canalshrewsbury-canal-the-aqueduct-of-the-shrewsbury-canal-rodington in 1971.
