According to the Pevsner and Cherry in The Buildings of England, designed by W A H Masters and built 1911-12. Masters' intended effect must have been compromised the hall placed in front of the west end and obscuring the west window. Masters is credited with two other churches in Swindon, St Augustine Image and St Philip the Deacon Image, in widely different styles.
