One of three such slate milestones placed along the former turnpike road to the waterfall; this one was Grade II listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300081831-milestone-near-gardden-fach-llanrhaeadr-ym-mochnant#.WrED99SLTGg in 2003, and records a period of time when the Pistyll Rhaeadr was starting to become a popular attraction, and the road was turnpiked for the tourist revenue. The previous stone (ie nearer to the village) is at Image, but I could not find the next one up the valley on this occasion, although it was there in 2008 Image
