This northerly facing photograph is of the southern end of the section of the Skegby Trail that runs between Stoneyford Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield (immediately behind the viewpoint) and Mansfield Road, Skegby. This line gave the company access to local collieries including those at Pleasley and Shirebrook.
