On the former Midland Railway main line into Leeds. The station buildings were on the bridge (recently rebuilt) in the immediate foreground. There were originally four tracks with two island platforms, located left and right of the existing tracks, with a further track on the outside of each. It closed to passengers in 1960, before Beeching.
