When the "Albion Hotel" (now the "Border Rambler", see: Image] ) was extended by the State Management Scheme in 1917, the enlarged premises incorporated the site of "Deakin's Vaults", which dated from circa 1859 and was situated at far right, approximately where the red wall is. "Deakin's Vaults" was acquired by the State Scheme on 16 October 1916.
