The seat is in a position which allows extensive views over Airedale and beyond towards Lancashire and Cowling Pinnacle. The plate on the seat reads "In loving memory of NORMAN IVES Take a pew and enjoy his favourite view". Norman, a firefighter who died in October 2014, was a frequent walker of the local lanes and footpaths.
