On 28 February 2018, there was an unprecedented red weather warning for Central Scotland, and by the afternoon Edinburgh had more or less shut down, except for some children sledging in the grounds of the Mary Erskine School. This was in a brief moment of not-quite-so-bad visibility. Most of the time it was so murky that you couldn't see across the playing fields.
