York Road, Brentford

Image: © Stephen McKay Taken: 6 Mar 2018

Seen from Windmill Road, looking towards Brook Lane North. The huge poster, advertising mobile phones, is not there for the benefit of York Road's residents but is designed to catch the eye of travellers on the parallel M4 motorway. It is fixed to the Alfa Laval building which has been derelict, awaiting redevelopment, for many years. At one time the building was occupied by the Brentford Nylons business, a well-known retailer in the 1970s, associated with the fashion for nylon bed sheets.
