Built in 1889 for the Scottish Meteorological Society, this was the Low Level Observatory. It was connected by telegraph to the High Level Meteorological Observatory, on the summit of Ben Nevis. This allowed measurements at the summit to be compared with measurements at sea level. It is a Category B listed building. http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB31779 It is now the Glentower bed and breakfast. http://www.glentower.com/
