Plaque by artist Mike Baker on the eastern wall of the Hatchet Inn. At the turn of the 19th Century the Hatchet was the bare knuckle boxing venue in Bristol an produced several renowned champions. Tom Cribb, the boxer in the centre, became world champion in 1810, beating an American, a former slave named Tom Molineaux.
