Planning permission was granted by Swale Borough Council under application number 17/503933/LBC for “Listed Building Consent for the repair and reinstatement of the building following extensive fire damage”. This explains the reason why the building is covered with scaffolding and plastic sheeting. It is a 15th century grade II listed house, which was re-fronted in the 18th century https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101343873-7-and-8-preston-street-faversham#.WpW9lf5LHcc The undamaged façade can be seen in this image of Image
