This sign stand outside the Trafford Arms - see Image for a view of the pub. The sign includes the two mottos of the ancient De Trafford family of Lancashire: 'Gripe Griffin Hold Fast' and 'Now thus'. Nevertheless, it isn't obvious that there is any connection with the 'Mr Trafford of Brundall' who owned property in this part of Norwich and after whom the pub is named.
