The container has had its side cut out, and then been laid lengthwise to serve as a water trough. Many old pieces of military and railway equipment have been "recycled" and put to good use in this area. This one comes from the "Decontamination Centre" at R.A.F. North Coates. It was originally delivered by L.N.E.R. to North Thoresby Station. See Image and Image As for the snow, that's down to the "Beast from the East", a threatened cold snap from Siberia, which so far has produced only puffs of grey cloud, snow flurries and patches of blue sky.
