This small, secluded public garden located on Waterfall Road next to Christ Church was spared from demolition for residential development by Southgate Borough Council and was opened as a garden of remembrance in May 1934; such an act of conservation would presumably have been unusual at that time. The Minchenden Oak, the large tree which can be seen on the right of the image, is believed to be more than 800 years old.
