Grindon Hall, Sunderland

This was built in the mid C19 as a manor house and owned by the Doxford family, who had a shipbuilding yard on the River Wear. In 1922 it was sold to Sunderland city council and became a sanatorium. Since 2000 it has been Grindon Hall Christian School.
