Neston Town Hall and Post Office

On the east side of High Street. The post office is on the right. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5731293 to the blue plaque on the left. The Neston website records that the Town Hall was completed in 1889 for the Neston Local Board, which became Neston-cum-Parkgate Urban District Council (UDC) in 1894 and Neston UDC in 1933. In 1974 the UDC was replaced by Ellesmere Port & Neston Borough Council. In 2009 this was replaced by Cheshire West & Chester Council. At the same time, Neston Town Council came into being. The Town Council is now based here in the Town Hall. The building was extensively refurbished in 2005, with improved access, modern facilities, a revamped post office and a town centre office for the police. The building was further improved in 2015. Neston Town Hall remains the hub of local activities. The basement, once used as the drill hall, houses part of the regular market every Friday. The first floor houses the local police. Various activities take place weekly from martial arts to Zumba.
