London House dates from the early-to-mid 19th century, as do the rest of the buildings to its left on Heol Maengwyn, and was Grade II listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300008418-london-house-including-paul-hughes-ig-owen-machynlleth#.WoU7NvnFKM8 in 1990. It would originally have been built as a large town house.
