Looking towards the city centre with the Beeston Canal on the right. The poster advertises the Goose Fair which is always held in Nottingham at the beginning of October; today it is a huge travelling funfair but its origins go back at least to the 16th century. The tall building in the background is the Jury's Inn Hotel.
