This is the approach to a footbridge > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5678222 over Yarmouth Road. The bridge was built by John Brown and completed in 1856. It was used by male asylum patients to access the farmland to the north via a driveway crossing over the cutting. After the construction of the Annexe on Northside in 1880/81, it linked with Southside.
