Sir Philip Noel Caron was the Dutch Ambassador to the court from 1609 to 1624. In 1618 he founded an almshouse, in what is now Wandsworth Road. By 1853 the Wandsworth Road building had become unsuitable for elderly people, so it was sold and the current building in Fentiman Road replaced it http://vauxhallhistory.org/caron-almshouses/ . The building is Grade II listed https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1080462 .
