Freehold tram stop opened to passengers on 13 June 2012 as part of Phase 3a of the system's expansion. It is one of the newly built stops on what was previously the Oldham Loop Line. The Frehold stop serves the Cowhill and Block Lane areas of Chadderton and the adjacent Freehold area of Werneth, from which it takes its name. The two platforms lie either side of Block Lane. This view is looking from the Oldham-bound platform, across the bridge, towards the Manchester-bound platform, with part of Image] in the background.
