The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

The gate opens automatically with a key code, and closes after someone passes through. This helps wheelchair users, but it also means that the maintainer can wrap the light beam in a reflective jacket and the gate will stay open indefinitely. This is the access to Image
