Witchford: lost at sea

This stained glass quatrefoil is high in the north wall of St Andrew’s Church. In the largest version of this photograph I have it is possible to read the name of the ship, “John Temperley”, and in the scroll above it the words “In memory of [dark and illegible] lost at sea 1872”. I am grateful to Adrian S Pye for suggesting that the missing word is likely to be "those". The sailing ship was built at Monkwearmouth for John Temperley in 1856. A Google search reveals that it carried emigrants to Australia and New Zealand in the 1860s. It was reported missing on a voyage from Baltimore to London after 24 August 1872 (source http://sunderlandships.com/view.php?ref=158077 ). I have not been able to find the name of the Witchford person[s] lost.
