Keynsham C.C.'s history is a little piecemeal at the beginning, but there appears to be a formal organisation from 1920. Their website reveals: 'At first there was no permanent home ground, but following good work by an enterprising committee led by the chairman, Frank Taylor, the present field was purchased in 1927 for £1,500 on a mortgage at 5% guaranteed by trustees, who included the local GP, Dr Claude Harrison. A generous, if eccentric, man Claude Harrison later took over the mortgage and wrote it off on the declaration of war in 1939.' The current pavilion was on a parcel of land, part of which was sold to developers and the funds used to build it in 1990. The club can boast Marcus Trescothick as a club member.
