At the end of Oldfield Road Image off Salford Crescent (the A6) is the grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1386163 Lancashire Fusiliers Memorial by George Frampton which dates from 1905. The base carries an inscription recording those who fought in South Africa, 1899-1902, and insignia in low relief.
