This unusually large low-breastshot waterwheel originally powered a beetling mill. It is now guarded by a large fence to stop people climbing on the metal paddles. There is another mill ruin, which is slightly more complete, a few hundred yards to the west, on the other side of the river. This has a water turbine, but is much harder to access.
