Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of Southend on Sea (Southend on Sea District), Elm Road, by No. 164, in pavement slope, on South-east side of road. Erected by the Rochford Hundred (Div of Essex First Dist) Turnpike Trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- (London 39) Milestone Society National ID: EX_RYLE39.
