This is Meaford House Lock (No 32) on the Trent and Mersey Canal, looking north towards Stoke-on-Trent. Together the four locks in the Meaford flight allow a rise of 32ft 5in (9·9 metres). Turnover Bridge is No 97. The towpath crosses sides here.
