A view looking along the outbound (Bury) platform at Crumpsall Station. A significant upgrade to the Crumpsall tram stop has been taking place since August 2017. This involves laying new (extra) track to allow the proposed Trafford Park line services to turn around. The stop will have a larger platform for Manchester-bound services. Evidence of this work can be seen in the photograph; the inbound (Manchester) platform is on the other side of the track. The Trafford Park line is currently under construction and is scheduled to begin operating in 2020. Meanwhile, the initial phase of work at Crumpsall should be completed by “Spring 2018”.
