Grade II Listed mid 19th century building. Built in 1860 and originally Magistrates Court and the Divisional Headquarters of the Lincolnshire Police until July 1975 when the new police station on Morton Terrace was built followed by the new Magistrates' Court on Church Street in 1978. Douglas Parkinson purchased both of the old buildings in 1978 for £3,250. The courtroom was converted into a small theatre in 1979; the newly rechristened Old Nick Theatre opened to the public in 1980. Douglas Parkinson died in 1992 and bequeathed the property to the Gainsborough Theatre Group. The police station reception, watch room, cells etc remained completely unchanged and in the state they were when the police vacated the building, so in January 2017 the group submitted a planning application to create a Crime and Punishment Museum that then opened on 25th July 2017.
