Originally erected and inscribed in 1921 as a WWI memorial, and updated for the fallen of WWII, this Portland (lime)stone memorial has now been Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1448967 in 2017. Many similar memorials around the country were also listed in 2017, in recognition of the fact that nearly 100 years have passed since the end of the first global conflict.
